Hesitation when i gas it?

when i step on the gas, there is a slight hesitation in the lower gears, sometimes it will take almost 3k rpms to get out of 1st and get into 2nd, is that a sign that my transmission needs attention? i drive a 2000 honda accord s.e. 4 cyl, 149k miles, im gettin the transmission fluid changed soon as per the owners manual.
